It all depends....If you have poor credit (b/c that is used in underwriting for insurance now) or a bad driving record.
I used to work for progressive and they only go back 3yrs for your driving record ( a lot of places go back 5-7) and they offer a boatload of discounts s/a married, 25yrs+, good grades, homeowners, aaa, etc...It also depends on which state you live in. I also carry their insurance. I've been with them for 2+years. My premium keeps going down |

Use moneysupermarket.com, try the insurance checkers they reccommend, there are too many variables for us to suggest any particular insurance company to you |

Companies offer different rates from state to state. So, the "best" insurance company in my state may be very expensive in your state. Still, selecting an good car insurance company doesn’t have to be a headache. You can cut down your search time by knowing where to look and what to look for. A good car insurance company will get you out of jams and have excellent customer service for whenever you need them.
There are four main considerations you need to take into account when picking your insurance company. All are important:
Price.
Many companies sell insurance policies and prices vary greatly from one to another, so it really pays to shop around. Get at least three price quotes from companies, agents and from the Internet. Your state insurance department may publish a guide that shows what insurers charge for different policies in various parts of your state.
Insurer stability.
Make sure that the company you buy from is financially stable so you know they will be around to pay any claims.
Service.
Your insurance company and its representatives should answer your questions and handle your claims fairly, efficiently and quickly. You can get a feel for this by talking to other customers who have used a particular company or agent. You can also check with your state insurance department to see if it makes public a complaint ratio, which compares the number of valid complaints with the company's share of policies in your state.
Comfort.
You should feel comfortable with your insurance purchase, whether you buy it from a local agent, directly from the company over the phone, or over the Internet. Make sure that the agent or company will be easy to reach if you have a question or need to file a claim.
Choosing the right company is a very important decision because you could be stuck with them for over a year depending on the agreement you sign. But, you can often get out of a policy if you are unhappy with any service. Never stop searching for the best deals because you never know when you’ll find something that you can’t pass up.
The best way to get insurance information, though, is from a qualified insurance agent. I would suggest going to http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=614498&Type=auto. It’s a web site that offers insurance information & information on policies nationwide. It also gives you the option to call local agents to get any of your questions answered. This service is 100% free and you are not obligated to buy anything. It is simply a way to get insurance information and be able to instantly compare rates in your area to find the best price/coverage.
I hope that helps!

Churchill were really good with us as we have two cars. If you are looking for a non fault accident brokers try Kindertons. They are excellent, give you a courtesy car and deal with all the claims for you and you don't have to inform your insurance. Would recommend to anyone. |

It depends on your age and car type but admiral are always good for a reasonable quote and if you have more than one car the multicar policy is a good money saver.
Also on newer cars always get a quote from the manufacturers own insurance I have Toyota Insurance and that is very good - all the extras as standard. For the personal touch go for CIS (Coop Insurance). |
