ALL insurance companies will charge higher rates for a sports car because when drivers (especially YOUNG, MALE drivers) have one, they think they have to DRIVE like they have one. The only way to avoid high insurance rates on a sports car is to wait until you're older than 25. You'll STILL pay more for a sports car, but not as much as you would if you're younger than 25.

Good post. I had some problems with my car after I had an accident. My Insurer wanted to raise my rates $525 a year! I've never even gotten a speeding ticket!

I looked for a new provider and found this website:

They compare all of the major insurance providers and give you the best deal. I ended up saving over $300 from what I was previously paying (that's $825 a year!).

Try a Mazda RX-7/RX-8. Most insurance companies algorithm to determine risk and pricing view the Wankel rotary engine as a 2-cylinder.

Try to stay away from any models labeled turbo or supercharged.
