i was caught driving with no insurance it had run out a few weeks earlier and i was not aware,i missed the court date i thought i would have got six points for it so i continued to drive then i was pulled over a few days later and was done for driving whilst banned, i got 8 months ban which i have served 5 months.

Make an appointment with a solicitor. He / she will explain that 8 months minus 5 months equals 3 months of your ban still to run.
By the way, when you do get your license back, your insurance will cost a fortune.

You can only get it back early if you are caught for Drink Driving and you undergo a course they ask you to take you get 5 months knocked off for doing this course |

8 months is 8 months, but that doesn't mean you will automatically get your license back immediately, since it is being held by the state. If there are any reinstatement fees they will have to be paid before your liscense is reinstated. |

You have at least 3 months left, but the DMV don't have to give you back your licence back then. If they feel like it, they can give you more time, I learned that when I took my five hour course. If they feel like you deserve more time, then they will extend the ban. Hopefully you'll get it back in three months |
