im not insured on his name, have no insurance nothing...however he claims because he has trade insurance or a trade policy or sumshit like that, that i can drive his car.
he said if the cops pull m over i can say that i am his employee..
im confused. can you help me in finding out if this is legitimate.

Hmmm not a good idea, you will get done at least £200 and 6 points and he will have his car impounded if you are caught driving it.

In the UK? I suspect you are not, however I think you'd have to be a "named driver" on any insurance policy before it was legal for you to drive. |

No chance - some chimp on one of the police shows on the telly tried that the other week 'My brother has trade insurance & I'm driving it for him'...
His brother was a trader with trade insurance, but the car was seized, and the driver given a summons. |

No it is not legitimate.
You do not have to be named on an insurance policy to be eligible to drive under it. However if you are not specifically named, you need to be covered by the terms of the policy.
With a trade policy, it will cover employees of a business. Thisis why your cousin is suggesting that if stopped you lie and claim you are employed by him.
Hopefully reading this, by this stage (and the other answers), you will make up your own mind - It is a risk not worth taking. |
