Have your parents add you to the policy as a listed driver; it's that simple. Your premiums WILL go up, no way around that, but you'll be insured. If you later get your own car, it can be added. You'll pay full premium for a young driver, but your parents' will go down.

absolutely not. Especially where you live. NYPD? You don't want to mess with those guys. You absolutely CANNOT drive without car insurance. It is against the law. You can get a huge fine if stopped. At least $1,000.00. Don't take a chance. Its not worth it.

You can but if anything happens your Dad's screwed.His insurance will sky rocket.It is illegal to drive without the vehicle being insured,and it is also illegal for Dad to let you drive his vehicle without proper coverage on you.If something happens your Dad will be paying for it for a long time.If you drive it without his permission then it will fall on you.Bottom line go get insurance.Teenagers are so lazy all they want to pay is for what they want.

As long as you are a licensed driver and the vehicle you are driving has insurance you are covered as long as the policy allows permissable drivers (which most all insurance companies do) but some have clauses where the driver has to be over 23 but that's usually on senior citizen coverage so that they can get cheaper rates.

UUMMM YEAH!! you can get in trouble when your driving with out insurence because when u get pulled over u basically get asked license and registration along with proof of insurence therefore yes u can and will get in trouble plus its not a good idea being a new driver with out insurence!!

No unfortunately you can't because you must be on the insurance as well if you want to drive. If your name is not on there you will get in quite a lot of trouble as well as your parents if they knew about you driving their car on your own.

You can take the risk of driving on your own but try and make sure you don't get caught cause thats when you get in a lot of trouble, so if your a good driver and keep to the rules and speed limits then you can get away with it.
But it's best to just put your name on their insurance as well just to be safe, it may cost more but it's better than getting in trouble with the law and having your insurance premiums going up.
