It just depends on if you get caught. I don't know if they will fine you but they probably would make you tear it all out and have a licensed person do it. |

Did you even have a permit to do the work? You could poteintal get in trouble if they come to inspect and there is no permit and then they find out your not licensed. How much trouble depends on your state, every state is different. |

He/she is responsible for getting the permits to do the work, but you can do it if you are capable of complying with standards and not getting her in trouble if the building inspector in the town decides to inspect the work. You could get in trouble (not necessarily legal) if you try to charge for work requiring someone with a license, but that doesn't usually happen with housing. |

The electical and the plumbing are both areas where the housing inspector must verify the work was completed by law, and signs off on that work. Without a license, I don't see how the homeowner will get an inspection pass. As for you getting into trouble, if there were a house fire, for instance, and it was determined that the work was subpar and not up to code, you could be in some trouble. If nothing goes amiss, and there is no inspector checking the work, I don't see how you could get in trouble. |

Possibly. Make a phone call to the building inspector, and ask. If you live in an area where it's required to have a licensed contractor do it, not only will you get a fine, but your friend will not be able to use his new electric and plumbing until it has been inspected and approved, and possibly replaced. |

No. You're not required to be licensed to do electrical or plumbing work unless you're hiring out your services as a licensed professional. |

I'm not sure about the fine, but lots of people do work themselves that are not licensed, there is rarely an issue because someone else rarely sees the work done.
but there could be some trouble if it needs to be inspected and they find out it was not done by licensed person. |
