Can someone find you if they wrote down your license plate number?

I had a little incident this morning with a rude wench. I was traveling in the right hand lane this morning, going the speed limit (45mph) and this idiot comes right up on my tail and tailgates me for about a mile. The whole time she was doing this, there was plenty of room for her to go around me. I then put some pressure on the brakes to tell her to back off. She started honking the horn and flipping out. Then I'm pretty sure she got my license plate number because she was mouthing something like "I've got you now." Can this freak of nature do anything to find me if she has my license number? Ugh I am so tired of bullying, aggressive drivers. This happens far too often.

Not really. Many people write down license numbers, but few actually follow through after they have calmed down. Even if she does, those who are allowed legal access to your registration information (DMV employees, police officers, officers of the court, auto mechanics, tow operators, car dealerships, etc.) are prohibited from giving out your address with out just cause. It's one of those "right to privacy" things.I wouldn't worry about it.

This is precisely why this information is not available to the public. Only police officers, DMV employees and others with official clearance can access this information.

Depends on who you are and/or who you know. I could take your license plate number and find out your info (or at least the info on the car's registered owner) but the average person cannot.

I wouldnt worry about her. I know its unsettling by the very nature of her abusive behavior. Its just one more ploy for her to annoy you. Its a big bag of tricks she has. Dont let it get to you. But I would advise in the future is to just let up on the gas and not use the brake to get people off your tail.. thanks and good luck Lee span

She could find you but I would bet she won't do a thing. Next time try this. Just apply your brakes enough ( not enough to even slow your car) so the stop lights go on, just tap the pedal several times so the brakes lights flash. You will be surprised how well this works and how they will back off. I find it to work about ,90% of the time. Why are so many tailgaters 20- 30ish females and teen aged males ?

That's scary! I'm not sure if your state's driver's bureau would release that information to her. Maybe you should call them yourself and ask them who, if anyone, can get personal information about someone else with just a plate number.

Probably if they have the Right friends to Track it or uf she goes to the Police to track it. and i am not on her side or yours if i sound mean i amc just stating the Facts!

Unfortunately yes, they can find your name and address, although they would have to go through the ministry of transportation to do so, if the car is not registered to you then they will find the info of whoever it is registered to.

My city is a place full of bad and agressive drivers, those people annoy some people a ton, espescially me.
