Can you add any car to your insurance even if the car is not in your name?

If you have an insurable interest in the vehicle, you can add it to your policy. The owners insurance would be primary, but you would also be protected by your own coverage.. For example, you are given a company car to use while working. The company policy it that you are responsible for any damage to the vehicle up to $2500. You are not sure how solvent financially the company is, and you want to protect yourself. You can add the car to your policy!

Check with your insurance agent for the exact rules and coverages!

You can not insure a car where you have no interest. For example, if you have a friend who is a very poor driver. You can not add his car to your policy, and when he wrecks, put in a claim and make a profit! You have no interest in the car that can be insured!

Yes you can, and theres nothing wrong about it. You can try to go back to your insurance policy of your car insurance provider or you can compare it also with other car insurance company policy. Try to visit this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for your reference and additional related information.

The title doesn't have to be in your name but the registration does

The basic premise of insurance is you can't insure something you don't own. If you are a driver of a car owned by someone else, you need to be added to their policy as a driver. If you add a car that is not yours to your policy, your insurance company will deny you coverage if there are damages because you have no right to the money because you do not own the vehicle. So, if you do this, it would be a big waste of money.

yes, you can add the car. but the registration will be on your name and the person will be added to your policy. so in case of an accident you will be cover if the person is on your policy

The owner of the car will have to add you to their insurance.

I assume you mean you don't own the car. If so, you have a few options. Either way, it is the owner of the vehicle that is responsible for the insurance.

1. If you do not drive the car regularly and the owner of the car is using a major insurance company, than anyone driving the car with the owner's permission is covered.

2. If you do drive the car regularly OR you live in the same household as the owner, than you need to be added to the owner's policy as a named insured.

Hope this answers your question
