Heres the situation,
I bought a truck, an S10 Blazer, about a month ago, I can't get it signed over into my name til next month, but the bill of sale IS in my name. Me and My babys father just broke up, and he will not hand me over the keys (because he has been the sole driver) I do not want it in his custody any longer because he wants to burn it. So Can i call the police and call it in stolen?

yes but when you call you have to say you suspect its your boyfriend because you cant find the keys and once you say it is stolen you cant go back on your word or else you could be charged for filing a false police report but yes the bill of sale is in your name call that pick up in as soon as possible and when you get it back dont park it in your front yard because the dead beat will come and try to damage it take it back to the dealership and trade it in for a nice honda accord that you and your child can drive in peace.lesson learned dont support dead beats. |

NO because even if you bought it the car is in his name that mean it belongs to him. He doesn't have to hand you over the keys because legally it's his car. The only way for you to solve this problem is to take him to court. You might not even be able to do that if it is in his name. If the car is in your name then yes but I believe it is probably in that mans name you will not be able to get it back. |
