I plan on selling my car soon, and i would like to re-paint certain parts of my car. Not the whole car, just areas where it has rust. Can I claim this on my car insurace? I have AllState.

No. That wouldn't be covered. That damage is not the result of being hit and therefore you need body repair, that damage is the result of time, and normal wear and tear. |

NO, considered where, and tear.. If you were in an accident, and that area started to rust then you could have claimed under coll coverage if you had it.. Shop would then fix the area, and put corrosion protection on it..But just for painting rust no, go to walmart get some primer, and call it a day. |

Auto insuranc is to cover accidents. It is not a maintenance policy. The deductable is not "yearly", it is per accident claim. |

Unless it is due to an accident no. Covering rust would be considered restoration and would not be covered. Sorry. |

Absolutely not. It's not a result of an accident and, if you try to submit a claim, your rates may go up. |

No. Rust does not meet the definition of 'loss', as it is not sudden or accidental. Rust is a maintenance issue and you will have to shell out the bucks to have it corrected yourself. |
