If it's over 3 years old it must have a valid MoT; the only exception is if you are driving it to the testing station for a pre-booked test. You are required by law to have tax and insurance AS WELL, not instead of. |

?

You *can* drive it, but only to an MOT test centre for a pre-booked appointment.
Why would you be taking passengers there? |

No MOT is an offence.
The only time you can drive a vehicle with no MOT on the road is when you are on the way into have it tested.
If you do this then the vehicle must be noted in the MOT test stations diary.
Hope this helps |

If you dont have an MOT you dont have valid insurance. If you want to drive illegally then yes you can still drive the car. |

Of course you can drive it, but it is not legal.
Your insurance will not be valid but your road tax will be. |

I agree with TallPaul. To and from a pre-booked MoT. |

"It is illegal to drive a non-exempt vehicle that requires a test on public roads without a current MOT[1], except when driving to or from a pre-booked MOT Test."

The small print on all car insurance documents states that you must comply with the Road Traffic Acts. This means that to be covered by your insurance policy, the car must have a current tax disc, And MOT. No claim will be allowed if this is not adhered to. You can also be prosecuted for an offence under the Road Traffic acts. |

Just love how everyone instantly reacts as says "NO!! ALL cars MUST have an MOT it's ILLEGAL!!!!!"
Well my 2 month old car doesn't have an MOT, and won't have one for another 2 years and 10 months!
Must be breaking the law then i guess?! |
