Yes you can, the 1948 convention of Warsaw agrees that all driving licenses can be used in other countries** (**within the signees) if you are there as a temporally visitor.
If you enter the US on B1/C1 Visa NON resident or VISA WAIVER you can use your European license.
Don't worry about getting am International licence if your licence is the pink EU Model. |

An international driver's license must be obtained from your home country. This permit only verifies that you hold a valid license in your home country. It is your foreign driver's license that allows you to drive in the United States. Contact the authorities in your home country to get an international driving permit, as the United States does NOT issue international driver's licenses to foreign visitors.
If you obtain a valid international driver's license from your country of origin before you come to the U.S., you may rent a car and drive before you get your U.S. driver's license.

yes, as long as you are on a tourist visa like the I-94... but if your licence is not in english or spanish it is a good idea to take a translation along with you. It is used in US a lot for credit cards and payment and ID checks, not just for drving offences.... |

Yes, you can. In New Hampshire you will additionally need an International Driver's License, and you'll have to check in your own country how to get that. That's usually just a formality, though. |

I believe you need an international drivers license, which, in the US is very easy to get. You just have to ask for it and show your home license. The problem is, you will need insurance that is good in the US. I'd ask your own insurance company in your home country about both the license and the insurance. If you're just vacationing for a short time, it shouldn't be very expensive. |

Yes. Keep your European license with you though. Make sure you are familiar with the local laws of where you will be driving at. Lastly, don't be an aggresive or offensive driver. I know *you* are the guest, but unfortunately us Americans will not appreciate you're coming over and acting like you own the road. Sorry, but that's just how us Yankees are. |
