if you drive on a regular basis you should be rated on the policy. other then that as long as you have a valid drivers license and you have their permission to use their car then its ok.

I agree with a lot of these answers. If you're a youthful operator you have to be listed on at least one of their policies, depending on who you live with. The insurance could deny a loss because you're not listed, and if they do cover it, might nonrenew your parents. In most cases as long as you have permission from the owner you are covered but it depends on the contract with the insurance co. but when it comes to households, that doesn't apply. If you are living in the household with a valid license you must be on the insurance.

Depends on the insurance company. Some cover and some don't. My policy does not cover anyone under 25 but I can drive anyone elses car and be covered (by my insurance). Most companies require all household members with licenses to be listed on the policy or excluded in writing.

If you aren't listed on their policy and you live in their house, you are not covered. You are talking about a huge liability if you have an accident. I'm surprised you receiived a license without proof of insurance. You can get in all kinds of trouble being caught driving without coverage. It isn't worth it!
