Like everyone else says.. it sounds like you are at fault.
Doubly so if you cancelled the insurance BEFORE you sold the car since that may make you liable for the other guy's bill (as well as your own).
One small ray of light.. insurance generally starts or stops at 12:01am.. if you cancelled it in the morning and had your accident before midnight you may still be covered.
either way call your insurance company.. there will be some mandatory filings with your local DMV that you need to do - especially if the other person reports the accident to HIS company.

Its your fault -whether or not you skidded on water or ice or if there was a mechanical problem with your car. You hit him and you are liable for the damage to his car. You may as well let your insurance pay it, thats why you buy insurance. |

Contact your insurance company. Your policy may not have been cancelled until 12:01 AM today. If you had/have collision coverage, your insurance will cover you for the loss. It sounds as if the inclement whether caused your husband to unexpectedly lose control of the vehicle to a certain degree and strike the other party. Based on the details you provided, he appears to be at fault for the accident. You can try to pursue a claim against the other party, but I doubt you will recover. Depending on what state you live in determines the various "contributory negligence" rules. Some states like NY and RI are what is called Pure Comparative states. That is, you can be 99% responsible for an accident and still recovery 1%. However, in most, if you are more than 50% or 49%(depending on the state) at fault for an accident you cannot recover. |

Turn in your claim to USAA and let them deal with it.
Your husband is at fault for "driving too fast for conditions" or "failure to properly maiontain control of vehicle." You could have gotten cited for either or both had you called the police.
Call USAA today and give them the other guy's info - save you from being sued by him later.
Good luck and I hope this helps! |

if you have full coverage both cars will be fixed, if you have liability then only the other guy will be fixed fortunately the cops were not called because your husband would have been sited for failure to control vehicle which would have put points on his license.even though you cancelled this car you paid for a month of insurance so they should still cover it call them |

So essentially you were driving without insurance, hit another car and caused damage to it and your car, and want to know if his insurance will pay? No, this was your fault, not his, you went into his lane and hit him. Since you canceled your insurance yesterday, you will have to pay out of pocket. Never ever drive without insurance, things like happen when you do. |

sorry but you are at fault-you are supposed to keep your car in control at all times-no matter the weather-adjust your driving accordingly. |
