Car Accident and Insurance question?

LA428282 has had the only good answer for you so far. I have been an insurance agent for 25 years. If you did not have the police at the scene of the accident call them immediately and tell them you want to make a report on an accident that you had earlier. If you did exchange information with the other party you do not have to let them handle it themselves. You can call their insurance company directly and turn in a claim where you will get paid by the other company. Some states have comparative negligence laws where each party involved gets assigned a percentage of the damages. So many things vary from state to state regarding whose policy pays for medical bills, whether you have comparative negligence laws that the best thing for you to do is call your insurance agent and ask them for advice. They will be happy to help you get going in the right direction.

I have been rearended before and did have a stiff neck. A couple of days later it was gone. I think mine was due to stress. But, if yours isn't gone by tomorrow it would be a good idea to have it checked out.

Well for starters, there's probably a lot more messed up on your car than just the body work. Were talking frame/unibody, wheel alignment and suspension. Heck even the headlights may need to be re-aimed. Next, neck injuries are nothing to ignore. Get down to the doctor and get checked out. It may be expensive but his insurance should pay for it. I do hope that you called the police and made a report. If you diddn't, DO IT NOW! It's the law to exchange insurance information just as it's the law to have it in the first place. Call this guy and insist that he give you his insurance info. If He don't, then make sure that the police know this and they'll get it for you. Then turn it all in to your insurance company so they can help you because that's what you pay them for.

alot of people dont know what they are getting themselves into when they try to handle it out of pocket with the other party. The other party usually has you run around town wasting time getting estimates and gives you a hard time about rental etc... all of which you are owed.

Please please please.. save yourself the time and energy and call your insurance and they will assist you in going through the at fault parties insurance. IF the at fault party doesnt have insuarnce... they will go after them to get their moeny and your money back.

You should have called the cops.

If they wouldn't give you their insurance info, that's illegal. Hopefully you got their license plate number.

Call your insurance company as soon as you can. They may or may not suggest calling the police as well. They may do it for you.

Also, ask them about going to the doctor. Your car insurance should cover anything over an above your medical insurance. If you have no medical, they may cover the whole thing.

But no matter what, call the insurance company right away.

File a police report and call your insurance company NOW. They can still pay for damages out of pocket but YOU need to be checked out at some point in time to make sure your okay!!!

CALL A LAWYER!!! the people that hit you will no longer have any contact with you. they will have to go thru the lawyer. also the layer will have doctors he works with that will be able to treat you and be paid when everything is settled. also call your insurance co. and let them know whats going on so they are in the loop in case the other people try to contact them.

They may not have insurance if they were that admient about it. None the less, Please for the love of god tell me you had the cops come to write up a report..... CALL YOUR INSURANCE!!! At this point, you want to make anythign and everything clear, your insurance will contact them/theirs to take care of the bill.. Generally your insurance will pay out and then go after the bill. You shouldnt have to worry about your rates unless youve had other accidents. You have the right to take it to any shop you want, and personally, I wouldnt trust the person that hit me to fix it right... I personally recommend ABRA (awsome work) Make sure you let the insurance know about your injuries and get to a doctor after you report it to take care of yourself. Call your insurance company and report the accident right now.Insurance is for the purpose of getting things paid for like the medical bills you will have when you have your neck checked out today.Do not accept alternatives for getting repairs made to your car.This is very honest but you have to be honest with yourself also.Get check out please for your own good.If you hit them then they would not try to make a deal with you.Call your insurance company now to keep everything legal

you may have a serious problem now by not calling the police. You said it was a red light he ran. were there any witnesses? The other party may now say you ran the red light. Maybe we dont have all the information, but thats the worst sceneiro I see. I would go tothe police dept and see if they will let yu make out a report now. I would also call your ins company and let them handle it and tell you about other coverages you might have. Uninsured motorist, collision, medical pmts, etc. Also, it is very normal not to know your hurt at the scene; lots of times its about 3 days. I think you should go to the doctor right away. good luck
