Can you get Car Insurance coverage to just cover the other driver if u get into an accident? Like lets say, I have a car that means nothing to me I bought it dirt cheap ect, I don't care if it gets smashed up, I'll just get a new 1.
Is there a way to just get insurance to cover other drivers? and nto my self, would this be a lot cheaper?

Yes, that's called liability only and it's the cheapest and smartest way to get mobile, especially when new to driving and building up a no claim history.
Just shop around for the cheapest quote you get and you are off.

If I understand your question, you have to get liability insurance to cover your vehicle and the driver of your vehicle, which protects you if you injure other motorists and their vehicle, so both drivers of both vehicles are covered. 25/50/10 means if you cause 25,000 dollars of injuries to one, 50,000$ injuries to two or more, or 10,000$ car damage, you are safe. If you total a 20,000$ vehicle, you will have to pay 10,000$ out of your own pocket. Wisconsin and New Hampshire do not have mandatory auto insurance laws yet. |

This is a 'liability only' policy and yes, you can do that unless your state mandates some other coverages along with liability. |

Sure you can get it that way--in fact, you're required to in most states. It's called public liability, and generally you must carry at least $25,000 for one person and $50,000 max for one accident for injuries and $10,000 for property damage--the other car, house, whatever you run into. Those are MINIMUMS, and aren't really enough, but will make you legal. They're the cheapest you can get away with. You should add uninsured/underinsured coverage, but it's not required. |
