Car Insurance for someone who has made a claim and has 3 points on thier licence?

I am looking for car insurance for my mum - she is 49 years old. She has 3 points on her licence (from going through an amber/red light 2 years ago and she recently made a claim after scraping the car on a gate.
She drives a renault 1.6 with an 05 numberplate and has held her licence for around 20 years.
Any advice would be gratefully received. I can't find any reasonable quotes!

i have 3 points and my wife has 3 and a claim try the post office they are 100 pound cheaper than anyone and you get 50 pound cashback after first 2 months i know iv`e just changed we tried compare .com thats how we found them hope this helps

You can try this company - http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org - I personally have their car insurance.
As I know their policy for points and bad driving records is not such expensive as from other companies.

A lot of these answers are correct. You will just need to do more research. There are thousands of insurance companies offering quotes. If you look hard enough one of them will eventually find you a great rate. Ask your mom to consider taking a driving course to lower rates. She should try to get tickets off here driving record next time. The red light ticket could have been easily removed from her record by talking with a judge.
