Car Repo Question/Title?

I had a question. Im surrendering a vehicle due to being unable to meet the payments. Years ago me and my father got the car loan together with his name on the title. Then i reconsolidated the car loan under my name only but I dunno what happened to the name on the title. I don't know if the bank moved it to my name or left it as is.

Even if its under my fathers name but the entire loan is under my name. I understand the repo will hurt my credit. Does it matter who's name is on the title? Will it affect him or would the credit union automatically switch the title to the banks name and mine when I got a loan under that car title? I understand it will affect mine..just dont want it to affect his.

I understand that you are trying to spare your father of the bad credit but he will be as much responsible as you on this one. I had to deal with the same thing for my mom and her live in boyfriend and no way could I help clear her name even with a lawyer. I do wish you the best and all state laws are not the same but Alabama is one state that does imply this statue so hopefully you are in a different state that will work with you and your father.
