If car accident happended and insurance covered the damage, but at-fault violation is kept off the driving record with help of being first offender, then will it still affect car insurance rate even if switching previous insurance company to other? Do insurance companies share their custmer drivers' information?

The companies can get your driving record from the DMV, and certainly will do that if/when you apply for insurance. For accidents, many, but not all, companies use a service called Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange (CLUE) that lists reported accidents, and they might find out that way if you omitted one. Better to bite the bullet and 'fess up. |

The insurance companies get their information from the DMV. Even if you are not at fault, if you were in an accident over a certain dollar amount (varies state to state), then it is recorded. The accident may not show up on your driving record but it will show up on insurance reports, which you don't have access to. So the answer to your question is, yes, your accident may cause your rates to go up. |

They will ask about previous accidents and citations and will also check your driving record. if you fib to them, they may not cover you in the event of a claim and may cancel you when/if they find out you fibbed. |
