I was in a car accident in NY- i was at the light and the guy hit me from the back. Can i sue him for hurting me I hurt my back and my wrist (again).
How does this work? Has anyone gotten hit by a guy with no license?

THe car that hit me was a company car- a bakery truck- had insurence but the guy driving didnt have a license

anyone can sue anybody at any time for anything. The fact that he had no license may not matter if he had insurance. Many (not all) insurance companies would pay for the damages he done even though he had no license. If he had no insurance or they won't pay, you can use your own insurance. Your insurance will pay to repair your car and then go after the other guy on your behalf. Suing him should be a last resort, not the first thing |

If he had no license, he had no insurance...you wouldn't sue him for hurting you, you'd sue him for negligence. |

Yes, you can sue him for sure, talk to a lawer . be sure to have the person's information. Sounds like a solid case, since you were hit (especially from behind) places him at complete fault. But to top it off, he doesn't have a lisence.. serious business. |
