Me and my boyfriend were in a car accident yesturday afternnon.
it was not his fault, yet the other man driving has claimed it is, even though it is not possile to have been our fault.
he is demanding that we pay for his damages bu does not want to go through insurance.
since we are younger we dont know wat we should do..
helpp pleaseee

Don't try to work a deal between you and the other driver. It will drive you crazy. Contact your insurance company and deal through them. They will take care of your loss/dammages. It's what they do. Have the other driver do the same. If they persist in calling you, tell them you are handing this through the insurance company, and leave it at that. They are unemotional professionals, and handle these all the time. Let them work for you.
I'm guessing this guy has a history, and doesn't want another claim on his record. Forget about him, let your insurance company deal with him. |

I just hope you called the police immediately after the accident. He cannot force you to pay or to go through some other form of resolution than the insurance company. If you have not done so already...contact your insurance company and his and let them earn the money you pay them. |

Maybe the reason he doesn't want to go through insurance is because he really doesn't have any. His may have lapsed or he did a by the month payment plan and only made the first payment. Don't let him bully you. I just hope you had a police officer come out and got a report from him. ell him that you'll HAVE to talk to the insurance company and see if he runs or not. |

I urge you to contact the insurance company and let them decide who was responsible for the loss. This is why you pay them. They will speak to your boyfriend and the other driver. You will not be considered a witness.
You did not say where this accident occurred, so I am not sure what comparative negligence laws apply. |

What are the details of the accident?
Did he give you his driver and insurance information?
I would assume that this person may have had prior incidents and doesn't want to report it to his insurance for a reason. I would definately turn it in. Let your insurance company go to bats for you.
Depending on details, if it is the other parties' fault, you always turn it in to their company first. Then if you start having problems with their company, look to your own. Good luck. |

I think its a law(at least where I am)that you need to file a insurance claim aftern an accident.Even if it isnt he cant keep you from reporting it.
I assume that he may know hes at fault and does not want to admit it.
If I were ytou I would report a.s.a.p
from experience usually those who report fist have the upper-hand.

first never talk to anyone... and then get the police report it is to soon now.. i hope you are insured.. and i give you a tip. if this man intimidted you in any way.. bring this up to the insurance company... also you can sue him for being loud and abusive. and also for scaring you.. dont talk to him in the future if he calls hang up if he comes to your house call police charge him with trespassing... finally keep your cool. this person may have a history of accidents and does not want that fact to come to light.. good luck |
