Hello,
I am trying to process the fact that I had gotten into an accident yesterday. What ended up happening is I was in the middle lane driving, I looked over my shoulder to make sure no one was coming. After I turned into the lane I was about to make a right hand turn before I could do this a ladies car collided with mine. She had her car pressed on the side of my car so we dragged a little bit. I was really shooken up at the time, I called the police telling them that I was in an accident. After that I called my sister to see if she can come where I was. Once I called her the lady got out of her car and I ask her if everything is okay. She said that everyone was okay. The officer came he had asked me what happened I filled out a statement saying what happened. I could barely recollect what happened since I was in a little bit of shocked. I stated exactly what I did and he said it was my fault saying that I made an unsafe right turn. Now the individual is putting it through my insurance saying that someone was hurt and the whole thing was my fault. She is trying to say that her car was beat up when in reality she had told me that her car was nothing like my was. She had a dent. my car is scarped in the front side of my car, my rim is cracked, and I have a humongous dent that literally makes my door squeak when I open it. She is trying even though she hit me. She had told me that she was trying to avoid me. Plz anyone with advice. I really just wanted to get this over with, but now she starting crap. This is also my first collison and i have never had a ticket before.

Do not get involved at all - let the insurance companies sort it out - that's why you pay the premiums.
The accident alone is traumatic enough without getting involved with the aftermath of repairs, who did what and when and so fourth. |

K man, don't **** your pants these things happen. I'm sorry this happened to you. First thing you should do is try to contact this person, and talk it with her and tell her that cash settlement would be best for both and will not hurt anyones insurance. Let her know that she will have problems with the insurance too if she goes through wit the bs.
If this does not work you ask your friends and family and find a respected lawyer (small claim or traffic lawyer) and explain to him or her the situation. Dont go alone to lawyer because they are smart too if you know what i mean. First get free advice if you and if you feel confident with the laqyer i recomend you go through with this. They will understand because they see these things everyday and they will help you. It will cost you but atleast you will win and clean this mess up.
The best thing for you is to get a cash settlement.
