Car got towed, dont want it back?

My car broke down a few minutes ago. I hate the piece of junk and don't care if it going to be towed. I am going to try and see if I can junk it before then but I doubt it because it is in the middle of the street. If it gets towed do I have to pay for the towing fees and the lot fees? I mean if I don't want it could I just not pay? The registration is suspended by the way.

Push it to the side of the road, if the tow company is called by the cops they may still want to get paid for the tow and still scrap the car. You can call the auto salvage yards and get some money for it. there are adds in the paper around here that say "We pay $$ for your junkers" free towing and get a few bucks for it. I would, just get it out of the middle. It beats paying for a tow because you just might have to. |

I've had two cars towed and never picked them up. They sent me a couple letters/bills and finally a notice saying I had forfeit the car. Suited me just fine. Good luck. |

Call an automobile salvage company. They'll take the car for parts. They'll tow it away for free and you may get a couple of hundred bucks in the process. |

Are you that certain you don't want it back? How will you get around?
To answer your question, rather than skipping out on the fees - a bad idea - you can give them a signed letter (or simply the title) saying you no longer want the car.
Why is the registration suspended? You won't be able to register another one until that one is resolved. |
