I'm 17 and just got into a car accident. i ran into Applebees transformer totaled my car and they had to shutdown for thew day. but i didn't get a ticket. i was aslo speeding. So how much do you think i will have to pay for car insurance a month

it depends on your current insurance rate, your insurance companies policies, if you are the primary or secondary driver on the car, if you are an occasional driver. You should talk to your policy holder or insurance company to find out the answer, because they could have first accident forgiveness.
With my insurance company, it would probably go up $1200 to $1400 a year (for a teen male). |

A totalled car is kinda vague ... totalling a 2008 Mercedes is vastly different from totalling a 1984 Chevrolet.
The insurance company will weigh the cost of their liability (how much they have to pay out in total - for the car, the transformer, whatever Applebee's wants for a lost day of income, etc.) and determine what the risk is for leaving you insured. Then they will adjust the policy. It's probably your parents' policy, since you can't buy insurance until you're 18.
I can understand being in an accident and not being cited, but I fail to understand why you would admit to us that you were speeding, and have mentioned that you were not cited. You do understand that the DA and the police look at this website also, don't you? |

I think you should be more concerned about how much you will have to pay Applebee's for their loss of business. They likely have coverage for this, but their insurance company will be looking to you for recovery. I suggest you stay in school, go to college and get a good job. You will be paying for your negligence for quite some time. |

That's a big *** claim your insurance company will be paying out (repairing the transformer, money the business lost as it was closed, paying out for your car).
Your new premium will depend on what car you get, what cover you want (Comprehensive, third party fire & theft or third party only) & which company you go with. If you get done by the police for speeding/wreckless driving etc.. your insurance company could impose certain restrictions (reduced cover, increased excess).
You are also a young driver which means a high premium anyway.

Not enough information. You can't get an answer without going into more detail about your driving record, your car, coverage levels, where you live, whether your car is garaged, whether it's fully paid for, and maybe your grades.
But however much it is, it won't be enough. |
