Car insurance. What a cheek!?

if you wonder why car insurance goes up for all of us carefull drivers is because when young inexperienced drivers pass their test some parents buy their son/daughter a fairly high powered car which due to the lack of un instructed driving they will end up crashing into another car or some other object thus the rest of us that have been driving years bear the brunt of the mess they have caused by making our premiums go up i know i prob sound that im moaning but ido over 20k miles a year and i have never had a accident in my opinion new drivers should not be allowed to drive cars over a 1.2 litre and be restricted to driving hours between 6am and 11pm or even earlier would anyone else agree with this

My insurer just did the same to me. Best thing you can do is call them direct with your policy number etc. and explain that you have just found the same insurance is far cheaper when you are a new customer. Tell them cost is important to you and they should bring the price down!

However, it is always a good idea to look around at other insurers to see what deals they are offering which could be cheaper, but if you have had good service with your current insurer then I can understand why you would want to stay put.

ring them with the info you have...if they wont insure you at the lower price then tell them your going elsewhere...i did the exsact same thing this year...

be sure you are looking at the exact same coverages, then call your agent and ask about it. If they refuse to do anything, allow it to nonrenew and rewrite at the cheaper rate ON THE SAME DAY. (that's important; no lapse)

They normally say these offers are for new customers only.

Just cancel it and go elsewhere, someone will be very grateful for your custom

I did this last year, my renewal was over Â£400 but their website came back with Â£163.

The difference was that my then existing insurance had cover for europe, which I didn't use and I had a Â£100 excess. The 'new' one has a Â£200 excess. I can live with that!

You don't need to cancel, just tell them you want the cheaper policy. BUT.. make sure that you are getting the same cover.
