My car broke down and the repair bill is twice the car's worth. Should I tell my insurance company. Will they pay me anything?

Your company will not pay anything for wear and tear. If you are going to fix the car then drop the collision insurance. When it is drivable, you will be required to carry liability insurance.r |

if your car is needing such an expensive repair, and you don't think it is worth it ,scrap it and cancel your insurance
Why would they pay you, unless it was an accident
or it was damaged by someone else. |

Why would they pay you anything for your car having mechanical problems? Do you think the warranty on new cars covers damage caused by accidents? Insurance pays for things you hit and break that belong to others, not break downs. |

your insurance company will only pay if you had been in an accident, had damage due to hail, hit a deer, been stolen etc. they do not pay for any repair bills to fix your car. that is called normal wear/tear or maintenance. that is not covered under your policy.
if the repair bill is twice what the car is worth, junk it and buy another.
or another way of putting it.
if your car was in an accident and the repairs to fix it cost twice what it was worth, the insurance company would total your car and would only pay you what your car was worth prior to the accident and no more. |

Car insurance do not pay out for wear and tear and breakdown so tell them if you like but they might just laugh at you. |

You question does not make any sense.
Your car broke down - YOU PAY 100% OF THE BILL NOT THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY has nothing to do with how high the bill is.
You should have shopped around for the BEST PRICE BEFORE REPAIRING YOUR CAR or just junk the car and buy another car! |
