Car insurance help? please I'm broke?

I was recently in a car accident, and I was at fault.If a car insurance company is coming after me for money on repairs to their client's car, and I don't own anything, or have a job. What can they do to me? has anyone ever been in a similar situation like this? what happened?

The old saying is they cant squeeze blood out of a turnip. They cant put you in jail for monies owed and it is unlikely anything will happen to you cause there is no money in it for anyones lawyer. Thus the lawyer will blow off the client, and you walk away free. They can give a judgement against you for monies owed which will affect any future inheritance you may be getting down the road, as they will come after your inheritance. But for now you are safe for the most part. |

Sydkan is right. Three things can happen, maybe not all, but probably at least one.
#1 they can and will sue you for the damages. You'll have a money judgment over your head, and you will get collections agents on you. There are limits to how they can go after you, but I believe they can garnish your wages if you ever do have a job. It will also really screw up your credit report, which will hurt you in the future.
#2.In many states when you don't pay a liability claim, you can lose your license until you pay it. It might already be suspended, you should check.
#3. In most states it is a crime to drive without insurance. You might find yourself facing this charge. While you might not serve jail time, it will go on your criminal record. That means if you get in another accident or get caught on a suspended license, the judge will consider you a repeat offender, so real jail, long-term loss of license, etc.
If you're gonna live broke, might consider dumping the car and live in a city with decent bus service. Rent is more, but you don't have any car expenses, so it's a win. |

they also can notify the state and have a hold put on your license renewal and you won't be able to get your license till your debt is taken care of in full. |
