hi there, i'm traveling to florida in 2 weeks and a i'm a bit unsure about the car insurance that i need to stop me being sued for m*****n if i end up having a bad accident or some crazy person filing a law suit. can anyone advise on the need to knows?

For car insurance the obvious way to get a fantastic quote is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you choose similar options with the same limits, auto type, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

You'd better call your insurer and find out just how to go about buying international coverage before you come over. You may be able to buy coverage here by phone for very little money (even though we complain a lot about premiums the insurance rates for good drivers in the U.S. is really inexpensive). Never drive without at least $100,000 in liability (I have 500,000 myself). The roads are plenty wide and traffic flows well except in congested urban cities so you will likely be OK but always, ALWAYS protect yourself with good insurance. Damn lawyers here are thicker than fleas and twice as nasty so having a good insurance company on your side is a great peace of mind.
