my son started college and twice got in trouble for minor in possession second time at a church party and he was not drinking. anyway now the insurance is dropping him he was not driving but in jan they suspened it a mo. his license and now dropping him thing is he was not driving why does one thing do with another?

Hopefully he has learned a lesson, and luckily there are many more insurers out there.
Now it is up to him do some legwork and search for a new carrier.

Also see the site's resources, there are links to Insurance websites run by the various states, check out your own state, get your son to have a good look to see exactly what the law states etc, in Washington for instance they have a law where they cannot deny anyone insurance, no matter what they did.

Jane's right--the company figures if he has alcohol, he'll drink it, and he's likely to drink it and drive, and they want no part of it. He'll have to go to a non-standard (high risk) company for several years if he wants to drive, and the rates at his age will be horrendous. |
