Why not use the DVLA web site but use a debit card and not a credit card to avoid extra charge.

yes- you can also do it on-line and just give them the certificate number

Yes you can.

Following on from what burn said, if you have only recently bought the car, the DVLA information might not do up to date so you will not be able to tax it on line / by phone. You will have to tax it at the Post Offfice.

If you tax your car on line you Will not need hard copies of MOT or insurance. All the information is held on the DVLA computer.
