Causing accident by uninsured and untaxed driver?

Somebody I know (and no it is NOT me!! ... I really have no sympathy here. She deserves what she gets) has caused an accident whilst uninsured and untaxed. Any idea what the likely minimum penalty is? I understand the fine holds a maximum of £5000 and 6 - 8 points on the licence.

ur right but with today's courts she will get a smack on the wrist and told don't do it again and that's if it goes to court

She will not get that particularly if it is a first offence. She will owe the person who has suffered damage. I have no sympathy for someone who drives uninsured

Uninsured big fine and six to eight. Plus compensation plus any damage to the vechicle.
