i have a ct license and am trying to get a cdl. my question is if i get a cdip (connecticut comercial learners permit) am i able to drive alone or only with someone with a cdl?

You will need a licensed CDL holder only when you are operating a commercial vehicle. You regular license will not revert back to a learners permit, so you can still drive your car without needing a licensed person with you again.

Once you take your skills test to get your CDL, you will surrender your current non-commercial license to the DMV & will be issued your CDL.
