If the check was made out to you only (not you and a body shop) you may do whatever you like with the money |

Not if the check was written to you and only you. You can do whatever you want with it. However, don't try to scam the insurance in the future when you have another accident and try to claim the old damages were caused by the new accident. |

well if the check is in your name you can spend it on beer and smokes if you want but car wil stil be junk you dont have to spend the money on car if you dont want to it just makes more since to fix the car it is why they payed you money but do what ever you want its your money |

If the check is written to you and not to a repair shop and you don't owe money on the car, you can keep it. |

it depends on your coverage. If your coverage includes repairing the car if you are at fault - yes. If you have loan payments on the car - yes. |

Yes you are realy supose to but if you company does not check to see if its been repaired.then you can keep the check. but there again thats frawed if you get caught. |
