Im Juss Got My License and i dont have insurance And Wondering If I Can Drive My Parents Car They Have Insurance And Gives Me Permission To Drive It, so if anyone knows the correct answer please let me know and by the way i live in tx.

insurance follows the car, not the driver. if they give you permission to drive the car, the vehicle is covered under their policy. if you live in their household you should be added to the policy as a driver. |

If you drive someone's car other than one you own, the owner usually has insurance, and covers other drivers. Your parents may even put your name, as a minor, on their insurance policy, depending on insurance companies. Most insurance companies require parents to notify them of minors driving their cars and putting them on the policy. You don't need to do anything, unless your parents flat out refuse to let you drive their car(s) without paying for it yourself.

If you live in the same household as your parents, you HAVE to be included in their policy to drive it. You will not be covered if something happens if your name is not in there.
The only time they can give you "permission to drive" and youll be covered that way is if you dont live with them. Thats considered permissive use. |

The way I understand it, insurance is on the car. Make sure proof is in the car while driving. You might want to check with Allstate to confirm what I am telling you. |

depends on what kind of insurance they have. Most (liability only) insurance policies only cover one insured driver unless othwise specified. But most (full coverage) policies cover all drivers and any driver of the car. |
