Im looking to get some insurance on my vehicle, my fiance and I have 2 children together and are wondering if I need to put her on my insurance. We own one vehicle which is in my name, I drive it 98% of the time which is to work, errands, and personal use. She drives it if I am unable or if it has to do with the kids and im not available to take them. Im just wondering if I should absolutely add her.

if she lives in your home she MUST be added to your policy for her to be covered. if she does not live with you but drives your car on a regular basis, she needs to be added as well. |

If she is a member of your household, she should be added but for the small amount of time she drives she could be considered a permissive driver. To be on the safe side,especially where a lawsuit could be involved, it would be best to add her. If she was involved in an accident and the other party sued, you would be named in the suit as the car owner as would your fiance and if she was not on the policy, your company would not have to defend her, only you.r |

It depends on your insurance company and policy, Mine would cover me but some won't, best thing is to check with your agent. pending on age of your fiance i don't think it will cost you extra to add her as a driver. |
