I've just passed my test and in their wisdom the dvla have sent it to my old address,
It will take 10 days for an investigation so they can find out why they ignored the change of address form and get my new license out.
I'm getting my car on Sunday,
But can I insure it without my license present ???

yes you can insure it , as you can insure anything , so long as you do not violate the terms and conditions of the insurance which will render it invalid . You have passed your test so whats the problem . If in 10 years you was to move house and send in your licence for an updated address , you wont have a licence then either.Same situation so do it. |

Yes, the insurance company will just ask how long you have held a licence - you don't need to give any info from it. |

Yes, you should be able to insure your car. The insurance companies usually have a link to DMV and they will be able to check that you actually do have a driver's license. |

You don't need to have your driving licence to insure a car as your details are held on DVLA computer that you have passed and holda valid driving licence. |
