insurance companies help, if the driver has full auto coverage, by paying for the of the injured/ death person's medical bill and what ever other bills/costs his family incurs
(personal injury, pain and suffering)
if the accident is determined to be alcohol related, or illegal drug related, the driver will probably go to jail on a manslaughter charged.
**it the defending party's lawyer is good, zero jail time.
if the accident was truly an accident, or the fault of the victim/dead person, it would still be called a manslaughter, but no jail time |

It depends on why the person was run over. If there was negligence (such as the driver being drunk or driving wild) then proably yes. If it was intentional and planned then yes. If the person walked out in front of the car without any warning then probably no. The insurance only gets involved in case of a claim is filed against the driver or if the driver files a claim or if the driver or the insurance company is sued.
Keep in mind the person does not have to die for the driver to go to jail. |

The jail thing does not involve insurance companies generally speaking. That is a decision for the courts to make. Doing a "hit" and running from the scene of the accident does not bode well in your favor. You have basically condemned yourself to guaranteed jail time. Whereas if you stay at the scene(where you are suppose to be), you are innocent until proven guilty.
Read deeper into your policy and maybe it does cover for time lost from work(wages) Different companies, different policies. |

it depends on how it happened, if you met to you will, if you didn't mean to you will go to Court and prove you did not mean to. If you don't prove it you will go to jail for live time for murder. |
