Check your zoning codes. Florida requires a current license plate and insurance on any vehicle on your property. It was made law to keep people from having junk yards at their homes.

check with your state laws in new york if you dont have plates you dont need insurance if you keep it off the road. just dont get caught riding dirty.

Depends on where you live. Some towns require all vehicles to be liscensed and insured if they are parked at your house. The next thing to consider is if there is a loan on the vehicle, all finance companys require insurance as long as you owe them money. If these things are not a problem, the only things you have to worry about would be if someone stole the vehicle and wrecked it or if a tree or something falls on it. You would be out some cash in those cases. I have 4 vehicles in my yard with no insurance, never had a problem.

Hi, It's extremely important that you have adequate insurance coverage on your car the moment you take delivery of it. If you don't intend to drive it at present and it is kept garaged, you will need at least coverage for Fire, Theft and Third Party Property Damage. This is usually cheaper than full Comprehensive Insurance, which generally covers you when you or someone else is driving the car. There is nothing worse than pay out $5000 for your car, not insure it, then see it go up in flames from a fire that someone started because they are jealous of your purchase.
Always take precautions to protect your property. Remember, if you cannot afford the insurance, then don't buy the car.

only if someone else is driving it. you need to insure any drivers. if it is just gonna sit there until you get your license, then no insurance required.
