Your sister's insurance should cover your use of the vehicle, especially if she's in the seat next to you. She should check with her insurance company to make sure that your operation of the vehicle is covered and add you to the policy if needed.
You do NOT need to buy a separate insurance policy yourself. |

It is always the driver's responsibility to make certain that the vehicle is insured FOR THEM. Get your sister to put you on her policy; there may be an additional premium as you're a provisional driver. And of course you'll still need to be accompanied. |

You always need to be insured to drive any car. Ask your sister to put you as a named driver on her insurance. |

Anyone operating a motor vehicle needs to be insured. Although in your case, perhaps your sisters ins will cover. Your sister needs to contact her agent to be sure though. |

You do indeed. Your sister should have you added as a named driver to her policy. I'tll cost her, so in all fairness you ought to cover that extra cost for her. Best if your sister checks with her insurers first to find out how much more it will be - that might put her (or you) off! |

You need insurance to drive any motor vehicle at any time. Do not do it without. If you had an accident you'd be in big trouble even if it wasn't your fault. |

yes, your sister can add you as a second driver with the permit .... just one thing ...... her premium might go up..? |

You need to be insured, whether in your name or as a named driver. |

Check your sisters insurance as to keep the cost down she may have opted for one driver only, that's her. You can be added as a named driver but as you are a learner there will be a hefty excess to pay if you are involved in an accident. It could mean that you are responsible for the first £500 or even £1000 of any claim. This goes for either your sister's car or a third party claim. |

The law says insurance cover for third-party claims has to be in effect. How you do it is up to you, whether you take out a policy in your own name, or get your sister's policy to cover you. |

You definately need to be insured, either your sister needs to add you to her insurance policy as a named driver or you need to take out your own policy, thats only really if you have your own car. Just had a look on http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/ you can get insurance if your on a provisional licence. definately make sure your insured in some form or other, it's very important. :) |
