Do i need more than one copy of my registration and insurance?

Hello everybody,

i was just wondering if it's ok to have a copy of a cars registration and/or Insurance card in the car, my wife usually carry's the original in her purse since i'm usually the one losing things like that, but if i were pulled over would it be ok?

If it's not ok can i get a duplicate original ?

In CA it is not okay. I don't know if it is different in other states. You must have the orignial document in your car while driving at all times. They won't give you a ticket for having no registration, but will apply a "fix it" ticket.

I don't believe you can get a duplicate because of theft.
