I was wondering to get a 4 years no claims bonus do you have to stay with the same insurance company the whole time?

No you don't. If you change your insurance company, they will contact your previous one to just clarify the number of years of NCB you have.
They may ask you to obtain, a certificate of proof of NCB from your previous insurance company. |

No, but when you change companies to show proof of your new claims, just your send off your renewal notice from your old insurance company.

you might get a better rate if you shop around. you might want to check it out. your driving record and claims history does come into play. |

not at all. You can use another insurance company but your old insurer has to confirm that you made no claims in that year and confirm your no claim bonus. |

no definitely not, its cheaper to swap insurance company's every year, it is the best way to keep your insurance price down, as all the company's are competing for your business |

No. I typically switch every year (since 1992) as for some reason (marketing) they seem to offer discounts for the 1st year to entise you in!
I've 9+yrs n/claims and switch every year. Swiftcover.com is good for me. But I'm probably moving to privalige this year as its quoted as £18 cheaper! |

no you should be able to take your no claims bonus with you if you move companies, you can also take a protected no claims out if you wish |
