no police cars have cameras that scan your reg number then that tells them who you are if your taxed and insured if they want to see your documents they will give you a producer wich will give you 7 days to show your insurance and mot certificate |

no you should be insured from the minute you put the phone down from insuring the car, if you were unlucky enough to get stopped by police they can check in seconds now that you have valid insurance, you dont have to produce documents anymore. |

no, as long as you know the time of day and date you are insureed from. cover notes usually arrive in 1-2 days anyways, so if you get stopped, you have 7 days to present you info to a cop shop if they want you too so its all ok. |

Technically yes - See this excerpt from section 147 of the 1988 RTA
A policy of insurance shall be of no effect for the purposes of this Part of this Act unless and until there is delivered by the insurer to the person by whom the policy is effected a certificate (in this Part of this Act referred to as a “certificate of insurance”) in the prescribed form and containing such particulars of any conditions subject to which the policy is issued and of any other matters as may be prescribed.
Unless you have the certificate it has not been delivered.
However police do still give you 5 days to produce your documents however - how do you know your documents are correct - or have even been issued! |

Not necessarily. If you're insured, then you're insured. Just because you don't have "proof" right away won't stop your insurance company from making good on a claim if the need arises. If a cop stops you then he might hassle you or even right you a ticket but I'm sure that it could be torn up if you can prove you had the insurance at the time of the traffic stop and or wreck. |
