look at the web site for your state DMV. It varies from state to state.
There are states where you can do this in shopping centers. Or you can ask if you go into get the test preparation booklet. Most states have them and it's a good idea.
You should have taken driver's ed by now and you could get a answer there. |

You dont need to, you can just walk in. If you wanna get in right away then make an appointment. I dont know what area your in so I wouldnt know what number to give you but google DMV and it will take you to the main website. |

Not in California, but you have to stand in longer lines. It's better to make an appointment if you can wait.
Took my son in a month or two ago to take the written exam and the total time with the lines, the exam, and the scoring was a little less than an hour. |

This is state and site specific. When I lived in California you could make an "appointment" at the DMV (a time frame actually -between 2-5 on friday for example) on line. In Texas everything is walk in and first come first serve. Call your nearest DMV for their process and make sure you find out all peices of documentation and form of payment you will need before you go. There is nothing worse than showing up for any reason at the DMV, waiting forever only to get turned away for lack of some necessary document. |

No with the written test you can just walk in with all of your information and then they give you sheet or you take it on the computer. Make sure if ur under 18 you have a parent with you otherwise they won't let you take it. |
