i live in texas and my friends were saying you had to take some driving class before a permit or license i dont remember.
i was wondering if that was true and if so for which one? because im planning on getting my permit this week.

ur gonna have to see how it is there but i live in IN and here if you take the class you can have your liscence before you turn 16. if you dont you have to wait till you're 16 ( or 2 months prior) to get the permit. 2 months holding you get to test for your liscence. and you cant do any of this by yourself till you turn 18. and also if you dont take the class your insurance goes up.

Depends on how old you are. If you are under 18, then in most states, drivers ed is required. If you are over 18, then you don't drivers ed. You just take the written and driving tests.
