Do you pay for car insurance monthly or yearly?

I have always paid mine yearly and thought everyone else did. But reading a lot of posts on here and it seems more people pay monthly. Just wondering about it.

Mine is billed semi-annually, but I can make monthly payments.

My company does not charge extra for monthly payments if I use automatic withdrawals, so I don't see a reason not to spread out the pain.

we pay monthly...

In my state, policies through my company are done in 6-month periods. I do monthly payments just so I can switch easier if someone else offers me a better price. Less money to have rotating around different places.

I pay semi-annually. Some people pay every month because either they're high risk / SR-22, or have to spread out the payments to afford them. If you pay semi- or annually, you'll save money. - The Gremlin Guy -

Monthly. Easier on my budget.

If you pay monthly you pay a service charge for that privilege. Although there are some companies now that waive that if you do automatic pay out of your checking account. I'm into savings, so I do it yearly.

i pay yearly ,but i have also been with the same company for 25 years too, that makes a big difference, most of the people who pay monthly, are paying for a new car,or are on a high risk program, that's the difference, when you have a new car you have to pay monthly usually, and its really high, good luck hope this helps.

Yes i pay, but it still depend on you on which you are comfortable with. Try to search on the net, what are the advantages of paying car insurance monthly. Try to seek guidance from some companies.Visit a site like this http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for your reference.

I paid mine monthly when I was in high school. After that I paid twice a year. Since I bought a home this year and put all my savings down I have to pay 4 times a year for insurance to spread out the pain.

Most companies give you an option. It might depend on your age and credit or how many tickets you have (risk level) but usually you will pay a fee for the monthly schedule since it's a service. They prefer to have your money up front. I pay monthly but Farmers requires a substantial downpayment when you open a new policy.

I pay monthly by automatic withdrawal. In some states, if you do not sign up for automatic withdrawal, the law requires the insurance to be paid a month ahead, which is usually not very easy to do for some families. If you do pay for an entire term (6 mos or 1 yr) there are cost saving benefits because Carriers will charge a pay plan fee.

i pay mine monthly for convenience, but they do charge extra for it.

i'll be paying it in full next time it comes up so i don't get charged the extra 10%!

It's usually cheaper if you pay annually or semi-annually. That's why many people do it that way -- plus the reduced hassle of paying the bill every month.

Most people pay it monthly or every 6 months. you save money when you pay it every 6 months. I've never heard of anyone paying it yearly. Im sure you'd save even more money that way.
