my car was in a flood and i read my insurance policy and it says it doesn't cover comprehensive damage. I looked it up to see what it meant and it said comrehensive meant 'accidental damage', but the only things it listed were fire, theft, vandalism, hail, and a few other things, but nothing about water damage. do you think they'll help me?

no. liability pays other people if you hit and damage them or their property. It pays nothing to fix your vehicle. |

Comprehensive coverage will handle almost all flood related losses. Liability covers other people's property in an accident. |

No the best bet is if you live in an area thats classified as a flood area to take an additional policy for flood other wise its an act of God |

No, Liability coverage only covers losses that you are responsible for to others for damages that you caused due to an accident. The only coverage that would cover your car due to a flood is Comprehensive coverage. |

liability only covers the cost of damage to a vehical other than yours. it makes you legal to drive your car and pays for anything you damage with your car. sorry and good luck |

No. Liability coverage does not cover your vehicle in any way. It only coveres damages to the third party's vehicle and their medical expenses up to the limits on your policy. Comprehensive covers your vehicle if anything other than an accident causes damage to your vehicle, this includes any act of nature, vandalism and theft.

You have to carry comprehensive coverage in order for your flood damage to be covered. Liability is for when you are negligent and someone else sustains damage as a result. Liability would pay for the damage you caused. Comprehensive covers all those things listed, and unless excluded specifically, I believe flood damage is also covered. But you have to have the coverage on your policy. |
