Not exactly. Your liability coverage may come into play if you unknowingly drive a borrowed vehicle that is uninsured, or under-insured. However, you will not have any damage insurance on the vehicle unless you have a rider for non-owned vehicles.
Insurance goes with the car, so the owner of the car should have proper insurance.
My liability insurance covers me in any borrowed or rented vehicle in any province or state. If I want collision, or comprehensive on those same vehicles, I buy a temporary policy for the dates I will have such vehicle.
Read your policy, and if still unsure, call your insurance broker. |

Depends upon the terms of the policy but if it does it will only cover you for 3rd party. in other words if yoy have a bump that is your fault they will pay for your victims repairs etc but not on the car you drive.
Best get your name on the policy holders policy as an additional driver |

No. Insurance follows the car, not the driver. If you drive someone else's car, you need to be sure it is insured. |
