I am under my Fathers insurance right now and it is his name on the card and the car.He told me that my car insurance expries when I marry and my name is changed.Is this true?

If you don't transfer title of the vehicle to your name,the insurance can remain the same regardless of your address...........He most likely has you as a rider on his policy (his car,his insurance,but you are covered while driving it).My son has his own address but drives his car (in my name,my insurance)as a rider on my policy.It will only change if he changes it.

It doesn't expire, you probably just need to change the name under the insurance. |

You can be under his insurance while a member of the household. If you move into your own place, you have to get your own policy. If you get married, even if you still live in your parents' home, you are considered to be a member of a new household, and should have your own policy (or one with your husband).
If the car is in your dad's name, he can gift it to you, if it is meant to be your car. |

No, it's not like health insurance.
As long as you're listed as a driver on his car, you can be 67 and on your 5th husband. It doesn't change. |

Marriage means nothing as far as this is concerned. However, It may change if you are (were) a minor living in your Dads household and you move out. Check with Dads agent |
