Does my moms insurence go up when i get my permit?

When I was your age(15 yrs ago), I had always heard the same thing. However, I have since learned that this was greatly exaggerated. I suggest that you ask your mom if the both of you can schedule a meeting with the agent to discuss it together. That way, you won't be taking her word for it. She probably isn't lying to you, but sometimes people pass off an assumption like it is a fact. Besides, a lot of agents like meeting with young drivers to explain the importance of safe driving and getting to know their customers.

Yes your mom's insurance will go way up when you have to be included on her auto insurance.

Your insurance WILL increase upon receiving your LICENSE, not your permit. As a "learning driver" you are automatically covered when driving your parent's car. You should also call your insurance co. to verify they have your correct information.

i work for state farm....the insurance doesn't go up til you turn 16 and get your license..........and the price depends on the year and model of the car you're bein put on and if your a boy or girl.....AND state farm has a good student discount...if you have an overall B average then you get a certain amount off.......but....to answer your ?......no.... it'll stay same til you get your real license

Simply put, yes her insurance will go up. Think about it, if you are the insurance company now you would have to take the risk of two drivers instead of one. The chance of an accident just doubled, plus since you are 15 yrs old and just learning to drive are a higher risk to be in an accident.

I don't know if it would go up $1000, each state is different according to the territory rating of the insurance company.

You'd better believe that your mother's insurance will skyrocket if you are to be included in her policy. Insurance companies do not like teenage drivers ... for very obvious reasons. If you try and do this on your own, you will be apprised of some of the harsher facts of life.

if you are going to be an underage driver on her insurance policy it will make her insurance go up slightly I doubt is is 1000.00 every six months that is outrageous... you can take a driver ed course with a licensed driver training school and it will help her insurance go down and some insurance companies give you a disc on insurance if your underage driver has good grades in school
