Nope. Check your policy. You'll find that you void it if you are over the limit. |

no only if you hit a third party i.e another driver etc |

No, as the person was driving illegally they're not insured. |

In cases of a policyholder having an accident whilst over the alcohol limit the Insurance Company will pay out for any third party damage (ie anything damaged that is not owned by the policyholder), but they will NOT pay out for repairs to the policyholders vehicle

Nope, - it's the same as expecting your Insurance company to pay-up if you crash your car into a tree at 100mph and no other cars are involved...
At the time of any accident/incident, you must be using the car within the law... |

No, as long as your driving is illegal, your insurance has nothing to do about it. |

yes your insurance is valid for the purposes of the road traffic act. but they may not pay for your repairs they will settle third party claims,
They will use the fact that you were over the limit as a reason not to pay for anything other than third party claims. |

I used to be an insurance salesman and i can tell you you are not covered, no insurance company will cover you if your car or the insured driver are not fit for road purposes during the span of the policy or if you change any part of the car cosmeticaly or mechanicaly or the insured`s health (this includes drink or drugs) without informing the insurers prior to driving the vehical for consent. This will be stated in the schedual in the fine print.
If the police know about this accident you will probably be charged further for no insurance. |
|

welcome news
 |
Yes - unless the insurance company had a clause in their policy restricting cover to third party only. (Drink/ drugs clause). Very few companies do - unless the proposer or named driver already had a drink/ drive conviction.
The exception - Quinn Direct (Unsurprisingly) |
